Choosing the Right Oak Planter
From a single statement tree to a run of herbs by the kitchen door, a few simple questions will point you to the right oak planter for your space.

A good oak planter should outlast several gardens worth of trends, so it is worth taking a moment to choose well. Here are the questions we ask when customers get in touch.
What is going in it?
A shrub or small tree needs depth and room for roots, while herbs and seasonal bedding are happy in something shallower. Start with the plant, and the size of planter usually chooses itself.
Where will it live?
Measure the spot before you fall in love with a shape. A planter that fills a corner of the patio can look generous, while the same piece on a narrow terrace can crowd the space. Leave room to walk around it and to reach the plants for watering and pruning.
One statement piece, or a group?
A single large planter with an olive or a bay makes a calm focal point. A group of two or three in different sizes feels softer and suits cottage gardens and courtyards. Both work; it depends on whether you want a full stop or a sentence.
Think about the timber
Solid oak weathers beautifully, silvering gently over the years if left alone. It is heavy, stable and honest, which is why we build with it. If you would like to see the planters we make, browse our oak planters, or ask us about a size made for your space.
